Since graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 1993 my career focus has been within the museums and heritage sector. On my career pathway I have developed my skills, experiences and knowledge about museum practice. This includes collections management, working with different communities to co-create exhibitions and events, buildings and staff management and volunteer development and leadership.

From 2011 I became a Museums Development Officer supporting over 25 museums in the West of England to achieve and maintain professional delivery standards. I used my experience of managing a museum which I had done previously to this role, developing business plans, growing and engaging audiences and funding and fundraising.

In 2018 I joined Arts Council England, as a Relationship Manager for Museums in the Midlands. I supported eight funded organisations as part of the National Portfolio, giving advice and guidance around their service deliver in line with Arts Council’s 10 year strategy. I provided funding information for museums and cross sector organisations, carried out grant assessments and participated in supporting staff development.

From 2021 I joined Culture Syndicates CIC in Nottingham as Head of Workforce Inclusion. I provided mentoring and coaching for graduates across the UK seeking to develop their heritage focused employability skills and experiences. They received experiences of working on live heritage projects.

Since December 2022 I have established my own business, called Payce Your Change – Be Authentically You. The focus of my business is to empower women in midlife to find strategies to go from frustrated to being fabulous. I use my coaching and mentoring skills and experiences to create bespoke programmes, which explore the particular issues each client faces and find resolutions. Running my own business has given me hands on experience of marketing, especially on LinkedIn.
